ACCOUNTANT
An accountant maintains financial records, assists in the development and administration of financial reports, and prepares financial statements.

ACTUARY
An actuary is an analyst, forecaster, and planner. The actuary studies the frequency of perils, such as tornadoes, fires, and thefts, and tabulates the costs of damages and injuries which may result from each. The actuary then determines the price which should be charged for insurance coverage. A strong background in calculus, probability, and statistics is essential.

ATTORNEY
An attorney interprets the law and insurance contracts and protects the insured's and the Company's legal interests. An attorney provides guidance on claim coverage, procedures, and strategies as he or she supervises high exposure claims and lawsuits.

CLAIMS REPRESENTATIVE
The claims representative assists those who have suffered a loss. The claims representative inspects damaged or destroyed property, and then estimates the cost of repair or replacement. These individuals work hard to ensure settlements are satisfactory to everyone. The claims representative's work is very diverse.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMER/SYSTEMS ANALYST
The computer programmer/systems analyst evaluates ways to capture, store, process, and retrieve data in the most efficient manner possible, and then builds the programs that will make it happen.

CLERICAL
Maintain all claims and/or policy files; sort and prepare incoming/outgoing mail.

DOCUMENT PROCESSING
Sort and prepare incoming/outgoing mail in the Home Office; print, collate and mail all policies.

GRAPHIC ARTS
Print and assemble company policy forms and brochures.

MAINTENANCE
Regular upkeep and repair of buildings and grounds.

MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE
Communication is an important factor in the success of every business. A marketing representative works as a liaison between Auto-Owners and the independent agencies who sell our products. The marketing representative informs agencies of important business developments as well as changes in the Company's policies and practices. A marketing representative must be versatile, experienced in insurance, diplomatic, and willing to travel in a defined geographical area. Knowledge of people is just as important
as knowledge of insurance.

POLICYHOLDER SERVICES
Rate and enter all policy applications, policy endorsements and cancellations; resolve agent inquiries.

PREMIUM COLLECTIONS
Research and resolve customer inquiries; apply payments to proper accounts.

SECRETARIAL
Compose letters, memos and reports and schedule appointments; handle correspondence and phone calls.

UNDERWRITER
An underwriter will review and analyze insurance applications submitted to the Company. An underwriter must have an analytical mind and exercise sound judgment. The underwriter must have a thorough knowledge of the policies and be able to assist and advise agents of options available to meet the insured's needs.

WAREHOUSE
Handle distribution of supplies for the Home Office, branches and agencies; maintain stored records.
