Coronavirus (COVID-19) Colorado-Specific Information

In response to Colorado Bulletin B-5.38, revised on September 17, 2020, we are discontinuing the automatic moratorium on the cancellation of policies for nonpayment of premium in Colorado effective September 29, 2020.

The following reasonable accommodations will be available for Colorado policyholders who are experiencing a financial hardship resulting from COVID-19:

  • Suspension of nonpayment cancellations
  • Payment options to pay overdue premiums
  • Waiver of late payment or reinstatement fees

Policyholders must specifically request such accommodations, before the date the policy is set to expire or cancel, from the Billing Department by calling 1-800-288-8740. Our Life & Health billing representatives have similar options to our Property & Casualty billing representatives. For assistance with a life or disability income policy, you can contact a Life & Health billing representative Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:30pm EST by calling 1-800-346-0346 ext. 51860.

In addition, if a policyholder fails to pay policy premium because of a financial hardship as a result of COVID-19 and has not entered into a payment arrangement, they may request to discontinue coverage. Any policyholder needing such an accommodation for discontinuing coverage should contact their independent agent.

These revised provisions are effective September 29, 2020 and apply to Property/Casualty, Life, Disability Income and Long Term Care policies. They do not apply to Flood policies.
