Auto Coverages
Coverages
Collision
Covers the cost of repairing or replacing your vehicle when you’re involved in an accident.
Comprehensive
Pays for damages to your car caused by factors other than collision, such as fire, vandalism, weather, theft, accident with an animal, etc.
Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability
Payment for damages such as injury or property damage to others, including legal defense if you are sued.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist
This coverage pays in the event of injury, damage or death caused by someone who does not have insurance coverage or does not have adequate liability limits.
Medical Payments and Personal Injury Protection
These two coverages will pay for medical expenses, hospitalization and rehabilitation expenses resulting from injury to the insured or a passenger.
Road Trouble Service
Lock your keys in the car? Run out of gas? No Problem®! If you’re stranded on the road due to a flat tire, minor mechanical malfunction or a dead battery, we will provide the service you need. Customers with this coverage can call us at 1-888-TOW-AOIC (1-888-869-2642), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in all 50 states and Canada.
Additional Expense
When you can’t use your vehicle due to an accident, the additional expenses can add up fast. This coverage helps pay for a rental car. And, if you’re stranded away from home, food, lodging and other incidental expenses will be covered.
Loan or Lease Gap
The second you drive your new car off the lot, it begins to lose value. If you are involved in an accident, you’re liable for the difference between the current value of your vehicle and the amount still owed on your lease or loan. That difference between value and the amount still owed is covered by this endorsement.
Diminished Value
If your car is involved in an accident, it might not be worth as much as it was prior to the accident, even after the repairs are made. This coverage protects your investment, ensuring that you are compensated for a reduction in value.
Rental Auto Gap
Provides coverage for the amount you are liable for under the terms of a rental agreement.
Additional Benefits of an Auto-Owners Policy
At-Fault Accident Forgiveness
Accidents happen. With the purchase of this benefit, we will waive the Accident Surcharge for the first at-fault accident to occur after the purchase of this benefit. To be eligible for this benefit, vehicle operators may have no paid at-fault claims or major violations during the preceding 36 month period of purchasing this benefit.
Collision Coverage Advantage
We will waive your collision deductible if you’re involved in an accident with another vehicle insured by Auto-Owners.
Common Loss Deductible
Experiencing an event that damages both your car and your home is hard enough. That’s why we offer the common loss deductible - if both your home and cars are insured with Auto-Owners and you have a loss that involves damage to both, we will reduce the auto deductible by the amount of the personal property deductible. Or, we’ll waive it completely if the auto deductible is less than the personal property deductible.
Rental Cars
Renting a car? You’re covered for the broadest coverages and limits specified on your policy, as well as other charges and fees that the rental car company may charge in the case of an accident.
